Terms of Service

Terms of Service are not yet available. A legal entity, jurisdiction, and registered address have not yet been established. Formal terms of service will be published here when the owner establishes a legal entity. Until then, this page is a placeholder stating the intended status of the service.

Current status

Certline is provided as a free utility tool. The service inspects TLS certificates for user-supplied hostnames and reports the results. It is offered on an "as is" basis without any formal warranty, service level agreement, or contractual terms.

No formal agreement

Because no legal entity has been established, there is no binding terms of service, governing law, or jurisdiction. The following will be supplied when a legal entity is registered:

Acceptable use

While formal terms do not yet exist, users are expected to use the service only for inspecting certificates for hostnames they own or have authorisation to probe. Systematic scanning or enumeration of third-party hosts without permission is not permitted.

Billing and payments

No payment processor is connected. Certline cannot accept real payments today. The Pro tier is in development and is not available for purchase. The following terms describe what will apply when the Pro tier launches with a connected payment processor.

Certline's core certificate checking tool is free and always will be — no account, no payment, no registration required. The Billing section below applies only to the Pro tier, which is not yet available.

Pro subscription (planned)

The Pro tier will be a monthly subscription that provides API-based certificate checking, bulk CSV hostname inspection, and related features. The price will be published on the Pricing page at launch.

Billing period

Pro subscriptions will be billed monthly, in advance. The first charge occurs at sign-up; subsequent charges recur on the same calendar day each month. If that day does not exist in a given month, the charge occurs on the last day of that month.

Failed payments

If a payment fails (card declined, expired, insufficient funds, or processor error), access to Pro features will be suspended. Certline will automatically retry the charge up to three times over several days. If payment cannot be collected after the retry attempts, the subscription will be cancelled and Pro access revoked. No customer data or account history will be deleted as a result of a failed payment.

Refund policy

Refunds are not offered for partial billing periods. If a technical issue prevents the Pro service from functioning for an extended period, the owner may issue a pro-rata credit at their discretion. Formal refund terms, including the governing law, will be established when a legal entity is registered.

Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No further charges will be incurred. Free access to the core certificate checking tool is unaffected by cancellation.

Contact

A contact address for legal enquiries is not yet available. It will be listed here when a legal entity is established.
